A Return to JWeb

I've been away for a while but I'm back and wanting to try something new with JWeb, a change in direction.

I've been away for a while but I'm back and wanting to try something new with JWeb, a change in direction.

My last post was six months ago, my latest project update even longer. I had a series of posts that I announced I was going to do. It didn’t happen. What’s going on? I’ll explain along with discussing changes that I hope will help put JWeb Byes on the right path.

Where have I been?!

I’ll admit, JWeb Bytes has been put back of mind since I started my new job several months ago. This started when I went for my Azure AZ-204 certificate. I mentioned it in my previous post and had a series of posts planned for that journey. Shortly after passing the exam and getting the certificate, I got an offer for a new software position and AZ-204 has been replaced with a new certificate, AI-200. Between being busy with the new job and the certificate being discontinued, I decided to hold off on writing about it. The certificate is valid for a year. I am thinking about getting the new certificate when the time comes and writing about it then, but I might do a post detailing the experience moreso than the content sooner.

So in short, I got a new job, became busy, and didn’t really spend time on JWeb Bytes. Sorry! But I’m back!

New direction

Even with these new updates in my life, the way I was handling JWeb Bytes was more of the same. I spend a lot of time on one topic, trying to get the tone down and the right message across. In doing so I felt like what I really wanted to say was getting lost. So this time around I’m going to take a different approach. A free-form writing approach (with some structure) that allow me to get posts out and get my message across. I do hope that they make sense and are worthwhile, but if not then I welcome feedback on this.

As for my projects, I will take a step back here. In this current state of development, it’s very easy to create something and just put it out there. When I first started this blog (the first edition), using AI wasn’t at the level it is now. Now I can easily create the projects I spent a lot of time on in a fraction of that time. And so can others. So I have to take a new approach with the projects section. I want to tie it in with my posts. Working through a series of blog posts and seeing the development of a project. From beginning to end. I can easily put out projects now to cover up the section and make it look full. But I want to understand what I’m making and know how it works. I feel like this merits another post on its own, but suffice to say that there are changes coming.

What’s next?

I’m going to do some small updates and fix some bugs that I’ve been meaning to on this site. For posts, I have a few in mind that I will get out soon. Like I mentioned before, I’m just going to write and see what comes out.

Thanks for reading!
